- Density
- Density is a ratio of an object's mass and its volume. Normally, as an object cools, its density will increase. However, an interesting property of water is that its density actually increases when it freezes. This can be demonstrated simply by a massive iceberg floating on water.
- Specific heat capacity is a measure of a substance's ability to hold heat. An interesting property of water is that it has a high specific heat capacity. Examples of other materials that have this same property are rubber, and fiber glass.
