- My name is Zacharias Jansen and I created the first ever compound microscope and telescope in the 1600s.
- Lewenhooke, Hooke, and Newton also came up with the microscope.
- Hi I am Anton Van Leeuwenhoek and when I heard about the discovery of the microscope, I decided to make my own. I took it around with me everywhere and one day I was looking into my mouth with my microscope and discovered animalcules.

After seeing Leeuwenhoek's discovery, I decided to look more into it and while looking at a piece of cork under a microscope, I saw many little chambers and they reminded me of little cells. - My name is Matthais Schledien and I helped to advance the cell theory by discovering that plants are made up of cells. I also dont believe that cells come from preexisting cells. Rudolph Virchaw provided evidence that proved my thoughts wrong!
- My name is Theodor Schwann and at the same time that Schledien discovered that cells were what made up plants, I discovered that Animals were also made of cells.
- These 2 discoveries were the beginning to the cell theory being discovered.
