  • Yes! it is of two types static electricity and current electricity.
  • An electric charge is a property of a matter which causes it to experience a force on keeping it near other matter. it is a scalar qunatity. it's SI unit is coulomb. there are two types of charges :-positive and negative charge. Charge is produced due to transfer of an elementary particle known as electron. Charge is denoted by Q.
  • Now let's study the electric current.
  • So electricity is basically the flow of charges,
  • But what is a charge?
  • Electric current is expressed by the amount of charge flowing through a particular area in unit time. Inother words, it is the rate of flow of electric charges. If a net charge Q, flows across any cross-section of a conductor in time t, then the current I, throughthe cross-section is I=Q/T.It's SI unit is Ampere. An instrument called ammeter measures electric current.
  • Now it is becoming very intresting and i am enjoying it.
  • Let's now learn about potential difference.
  • : Amount of work done to move a unit charge from one point to the other.Potential difference (V) between two points = Work done (W)/Charge (Q)
  • One volt is the potential difference between two points in a current carrying conductor when 1 joule ofwork is done to move a charge of 1 coulomb from one point to the other.
  • The potential difference is measured by means of an instrument called the voltmeter.
  • Potential difference is produced by a battery, consisting of one or more electric cells.
  • The SI unit of potential difference is volt.named after Alessandro Volta.
  • Yeah!sure. The potential difference, V, across the ends of a given metallic wire in an electric circuit is directlyproportional to the current flowing through it, provided its temperature remains the same. Thisis called Ohm’s law.
  • My teacher told me about Ohm's law.can you please explain it.
  • Do you know what is resistance.
  • Yes!S.I Unit of Resistance is Ohm = Volt / Ampere.A component used to regulate current without changing the voltage source is called variableresistance.A device called rheostat is often used to change the resistance in the circuit
  • An insulator of the same size offers even higher resistance.
  • A component of a given size that offers a low resistance is a good conductor. A conductor havingsome appreciable resistance is called a resistor. A component of identical size that offers a higherresistance is a poor conductor.
  • The potential difference, V, across the ends of a given metallic wire in an electric circuit is directlyproportional to the current flowing through it, provided its temperature remains the same. Thisis called Ohm’s law.
  • Was it not intresting?
  • Yes!it was very intresting learning about electricity.I enjoyes it very much.I learned various new things. Now physics is no more boring for me.
