- God accepted the offering but did not like it as much as Abel's. God evidently liked Abel better than Cain, and Cain was jealous.
- As Cain was walking back, God spoke to him.
- One day after, Cain invited Abel out into the field. But Cain was planning to do a very bad thing.
- While they were out in the field, Cain attacked Abel. Cain hurt him and killed him. He murdered his own brother out of jealousy.
- I don't know. Am I supposed to know where he is at all times?
- Cain. Where is your brother, Abel?
- God then put a curse over Cain and banished him. The curse was stopping him from growing and harvesting any crops, no matter how hard he tried.
- What have you done!? I know that you have killed Abel.
- But God knew what had happened, he knew that Abel was dead.
- Cain was banished from the garden, so he set off. But God put a protective mark on Cain that meant anyone who killed him would suffer severe punishment. He settled in the land of Nod, far from the garden. The mark would last the rest of his life.
