- As Daisy pulls away from him, Gatsby tries to deny Tom's accusations to win her back.

- Don't believe what he says, Daisy! None of it is true, I didn't do any of those things! I didn't do it!

- Nick Talks to Gatsby
- Daisy was driving the car, but no matter what I will take the blame.

- Upon seeing the yellow car, she believes she is running out to Tom to escape George. Myrtle is then hit and killed by the yellow car, which drives away.
- Seeing George is distraught, Tom comforts him while trying to hide his own sadness. He blames Gatsby for Myrtle's death.
