- This is one of my favorite quotes for many reasons. First, it shows the innocence of a child during a very dangerous time. Second, it shows how much Nisha wants to have a friend in her life. Finally, this quote simply states that just because people practice different religions, they should still be able to be friends. This part of the book is so sweet and simple, yet has a great deal of meaning behind it.
- Maybe if Papa finds out and her parents find out, they will see that we're just two lonely girls who want to be friends. How could a friendship be dangerous?
