- Dinner for TwoBY: Zayd Karaishi
- Everyday, Jennifer Jenison fixed her husband supper, it wasn't that she liked the routine, so much as her husband enjoyed the meal.
- Gerald usually gets home around 5:30pm
- Jenny was making her mothers recipe of mash potatoes.So she mashed, and mashed, and mashed the mashed potatoes, until they were ground into a fine and creamy consistency
- Jenny heard the car door slam. She painted on a smile as she painted on every emotion she feigned in Gerald's presence.
- Like a marionette, she leaned in and accepted a peck on the cheek. She accepted the grey fedora, feeling the coolness of the fabric in her right hand, and the warmth of the trench coat over her left arm.
- "What did you do?"
- "Good. Yours?"
- "Just the usual. I cleaned. I had tea. And then cooked dinner."
- She walked through the kitchen doorway and stopped by the table. She pulled back a chair with a squeak and sat down... this was usually the extent of the dinner conversation, the rest of the evening was silent.
- "How was your day?"
- "Good"
