- In the French Colony of Saint Domingue, Unrest grew among the slaves.Slaves in the Colony were one of the harshest treated slaves in the world.

- On 21 August 1791, The slaves in the Northern Haiti began the Haitian Revolution. They were led by Toussaint Louverture, who disciplined the slaves and supplied by the Spanish British.
- Rise up against the French!
- The revolt successfully staved off French Armies for several years but switched sides to the French against Britain and Spain in 1794, in response to the French abolishing slavery
- Run! Retreat!
- By 1789, the British and their allies leave the colony in defeat, thanks in large part to disease and Toussaint's expert training of his army.

- After Britain left the Island, a period of relative peace in the colony sets in and Toussaint declares himself governor-general for life. However, back in France, Napoleon conducts a coup and sends Charles Leclerc and an army to reinstate French Rule over Saint Domingue.
