- Hi. I'm Milo the peasant and I'm going to tell you about the Black Death.
- The Black Death was an outbreak of the bubonic plague that struck Europe in 1347.
- It first came to Europe when rats hopped aboard ships that sailed from the Black Sea.
- The rats carried fleas that were infected with the Black Death.
- Unfortunately for us, we were oblivious to the spreading of the disease until people started to drop dead in the street!
- The Black Death spread through the air as well as bites from infected rats. Because of that, the Plague spread quickly.
- By 1348, the Plague struck Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and London!!!
- Uhhhg!
- Many people tried to flee for the country side. however, the Plague already spread to livestock...
- BAAAAAH!!!!!
- AAAH! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
- Because this disease affected sheep, many sheep died. This lead to a wool shortage
- This effected the economy terribly.
- The Plague had finally finished it's deadly course by the 1350's.
- From the start to the finish, the Black Death killed one third of Europe's population!
