- Today we will be talking about inflation. Why it happens and the effects of inflation.
- Have you ever noticed the price or food go up? It happens because of inflation.
- Inflation happens when demand-pull inflation, cost-push inflation, and built-in inflation happen. The most common cause is when aggregate demand outweighs aggregate supply, at which point prices will go up.
- This will result in people asking for higher wages then businesses need to increase prices to stay alive. When this happens, we call this phenomenon the price-wage gap.
- Prices will go up and since the economy is overheated shortages will happen and higher prices once again. The positive effect is it prevents deflation.. Questions so far?
