- Lev and his friends were out on patrol and see 2 fighter planes fighting in the sky. Then they all see a dead German piolet shooting down and lev and his friends go to loot the corpes. They find some cool stuff, though they get chased and since lev was trying to save his crush, he ends up getting caught
- Now thrown in jail for theft and curfew braking. Once there, he meets his cell mate, Kolya. Kolya is in there for being a "deserter," though he clams he is not. Then, out of nowhere they are both given a second chance.
- The captain sends the 2 to get a dozen eggs for his daughters wedding cake. Kolya thinks it would be good to start at the Haymarket; There they meet a big man who says he has eggs for them. Following them, they realize its a trap so they can become food and so they Kolya fights his way out for him and Lev. They manage to escape and get help, though the cannibals got away.
- After dealing with the cannibals, they go to an old mans chicken coop to get a chicken. When they get there, there is only a boy and a chicken. After and a emotional conversation, he decides to give them the last chicken.
- They stay up trying to get the chicken, named Darling, to grow so it can make some eggs. However they come to find out that Darling is actually a roster and not a chicken. After the confusion, they just decide to use darling for "darling soup" and so the mission for eggs continues.
- After the fake chicken chapter we see Kolya and Lev go to seek eggs in German territory where they see the most horrible stuff. On the way they they trained dogs that were put threw hell. One was still alive but dying slowly and so Kolya decides to put out of its misery.
