- millions of sperm are released into the women’s vagina. These sperm will swim up the vagina through the uterus and into the oviduct.
- This is an egg cell. It is found in the women’s body. It is the destination of the sperm.
- Fertilised egg cell will travel down to the womb. It will then land in the uterus lining. This is called implantation.
- There are many obstacles the sperm cells have to get through to reach to the egg.
- At about 8 weeks a placenta and an umbilical cord will grow. This allows the baby to get nutrients.
- After the fertilization, the implantation begins and a living child appears. Once the baby is born it will look like the mother and the father because of the genetic influence, of the chromosones.
