- Weathering is the break down of rocks into smaller pieces. there are two types of weathering physical/mechanical weathering and chemical weathering.
- physical weathering is break down of rock through physical force, like when water freezes in a crack it expands and breaks.chemical weathering is break down rock or combining hem with new chemical elements, like acid rain and rust. the pumpkin represents a broken rock.
- erosion is the movement of weathered materials and the wearing away of rocks. erosions are wind, water, and glacier.
- water erosion is carves out and carries sediments. Wind erosion lifts, moves sand and gravel, wearing away rocks as it blows by. Glaciers are huge, slow moving rivers of ice push, tear, and carry tons of rocks and earth.
- after the process of weathering and erosion conclude the sediments from erosion and the minerals from the weathering come together at the slit near the water and land. This is known as deposition
