- Lady Macbeth has made the guards drunk and passed out and it it hard to tell whether they are still alive or dead

- Macbeth enters the room holding the bloody dagger confirming that he has killed Duncan. He is worried if they someone could have heard the struggle between him and Duncan.

- Macbeth can't say Amen because he feels to guilty but Lady Macbeth tells him to stop thinking about it and that it will make him crazy little does she know that he's already lost his mind.

- Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth that he needs to move on and wash his hands(wash away his guilt). Macbeth forgot to leave the dagger and smear the blood on the guards so Lady Macbeth tells him to go do it . But Macbeth refuses so she go's to do it herself.
- While Lady Macbeth go's to cover their tracks while Macbeth still feels extremely guilty and doesn't think that all the water in the ocean can wash away his guilt
- Lady Macbeth has returned after doing what needs to be done and then they both hear a knocking and Lady Macbeth says that they need to put on their night gowns and pretend to sleep to act like they weren't there
