Ch.22: Revolutionaries find out that Foulon only faked his death, and was taken from the country and was put in the Hotel de Ville as a prisoner. Madame Defarge leads a mob to the hotel and beheads him and puts his head on a pike. His son is also discovered while traveling and heavily guarded. They manage to also kill him, and place his head and his heart onto pikes.
Ch.23: a stranger asks for directions to the Evremond Chateau. That night, four people were seen lighting the chateau on fire. The villagers are happy while the servants of the chateau are not. The rebellion from the city is spreading to the countryside.

Ch. 22: Madame Defarge leads a mob to the Hotel de Ville that Foulon is being held at.
They capture Foulon, stuff his mouth with grass, and hangs him from a lamp post.
They then also find Foulon's son, who was riding in heavily protected, and kill him as well. They beheaded him and put both his head and heart on pikes.
Ch.23: A stranger asks the roadmender for directions to the Evremonde Chateau
It is later seen that 4 figures have lit the chateau on fire. Citizens were exited, while servants were very upset and were begging thm to stop.
With the fire started, the Villagers then decide to threaten Gabelle which is the local tax collector. He hides on the roof while they pound on his door.
