- Hi, I'm Ben and this is Jerry! We are the founders of the ice cream company Ben Jerry's!After taking an ice cream course at Penn State for $5, we opened our first ice cream shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont in 1978.
- After our shop was open for about a year, we began shipping our ice cream in pints to grocery stores. Eventually, the demand for our ice cream got so high that we opened up a second location in Shelburne, Vermont. In 1988, we were even named the "US Small Business Persons of the Year" by Ronald Reagan. And the rest is history!
- Since we both built the business together, Ben and Jerry's is a partnership between Ben and Jerry, in which we both have equal say.
- Later on as we expanded, we became a certified B corporation, which is recognized as the highest standard for social corporate responsibility. Thus, we use our power as a business to solve social and environmental problems.
- And with the help of our loyal customers, Ben and Jerry's is still able to fight for the issues we care about, like racial justice and climate change. Thank you to all our customers who support us everyday!
- Today, Ben and Jerry's is thriving. We have created so many ice cream flavors and have even created special flavors with celebrities.
