- On a snowy evening on March 5, 1770, angry colonists insulted and taunted the guards who were guarding the Custom house
- The angry colonists called for more male colonists and started throwing rocks, snowballs and ice towards the guards causing them to call for reinforcements.
- Captain Preston arrived and tried to settle the crowd down but unfortunately and object hit one of the soldiers and knocked him down. Then, he fired and it became a full riot on the street.
- The violence escalated and colonists started to attack the guards with clubs and sticks causing the guards to shoot them.

- This riot killed five innocent colonists and wounded many others and this event was called The Boston Massacre.
