  • During the 17th Century, Puritan New England, a young married woman named Hester Prynne is being judged for her adulterous act in which resulted to her giving birth to a child named Pearl. She was pilloried and was made to wear the scarlet letter A for the rest of her life as a result of her licentious act as well as her refusal to name the father of her child.
  • CLIMAX
  • MY LOVEEEE!
  • Father!!! NO *cries* why.
  • After some time away from Boston, her husband, Roger Chillingworth has finally come home, but to his surprise he is greeted with a sight of his wife's punishment for her adultery. Much to his dismay, Hester did not reveal the name of her secret lover and that only made Roger more dedicated to exact revenge and know the identity of the nameless man. AS he was ashamed to be her husband, he made Hester swore to secrecy. Meanwhile, Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale seems to be sick, Roger then posed as a doctor to help the reverend. (mind jedi)
  • FALLING ACITON
  • I really can't believe Reverend did that. He must be so overcome with guilt, poor guy.
  • Fast forward, Pearl has finally reached the age of 7, and they reconnect with Dimmesdale with plans of running away to Europe after the Reverend gives his final sermon during the Election's day. Though with each passing day, Arthur gets more sickly due to his guilt. Meanwhile, Roger upon finding out the family's plan for running away, he also booked a ticket on the same ship.
  • RESOLUTION
  • WOooOOW
  • Oh, I loved him so dearly. Our love was surely sacred, it was magical.
  • On the day of the Election's day Reverend Arthur gave his sermon with renewed energy and passion. Before ending his sermon, he calls Hester and Pearl on to the scaffold and revealed that he was part of the adulterous act years ago and that he was guilty for not being there for Pearl seven years ago. He ripped open his shirt and revealed the letter A onto his skin, and then he falls and dies on Hester's arms.
  • Oh no. *murmurs intensifies*
  • The townspeople upon finding out the truth could not believe it and even denies the engravings that the Reverend made. While Roger was morally degraded due to his obsessions, he later died a year after Arthur, and left his entire inheritance to Pearl, making her very rich in the process. After all that happened, Hester and Pearl decided to start a new life in Europe and left New England.
  • Are you really sure you saw an engraving on him? I don't think Reverend would do something like that. Surely you jest. *shakes his head*
  • Decades later, Hester returns to her old town in Boston, and decided to live in the old cottage, she and Pearl used to house in. Although, she wasn't required to wear the scarlet letter A anymore, she still wears it on her person. Women who respects her, comes to her for advice, and if asked she tells them that she did not feel guilty as their deep love for one another was sacred. She later dies in Boston and buried near Arthur. In her entire life, she never repented.
