- BEGINNING
- A litter of pigs was born yesterday. One of them is really small and dad is going to kill it.
- Mom where is Dad going with the ax.
- MIDDLE
- Ok Fern. I won't kill the pig. I will bring him inside for you to take care of and you will see how much trouble the runt can be.
- Dad please don't kill the pig. It's so unfair.
- END
- He's yours. Saved from an untimely death.
- Oh Look at him. He's absolutely perfect.
- A little girl named Fern came downstairs one day for breakfast. She sees her dad going outside with an ax. She asks her mom why dad has the ax and her mom tells her that a litter of pigs were born and one of them was a runt. Dad was going to kill the small one.
- Fern ran outside to her dad. She begged her dad not to kill the pig. She cried that it was a big injustice. Her dad told her that he would not kill the pig and he would bring the runt inside the house for Fern to feed.
- Fern came downstairs and saw a box on the table. She opened the box and saw a perfect little pig. Her dad told her the pig was now her responsibility. She gave the pig a bottle like a baby. She was in love with the pig.
