- I'm so so sorry Rufus, I didn't mean to overwhelm you. When I was first diagnosed I felt so alone so now that you have Type 1 Diabetes I got so excited to help. I should have explained things slower and let you ask questions. I know its scary right now but I promise it will get better. There are challenges but they always get resolved. Last week my blood sugar kept going low every night but now I give less basil overnight I'm all better.
- Rufus we're still normal. Type 1 diabetes seems so different but that doesn't mean it's bad. Because of it I got really good at fast math calculations and problem solving. It helped me realize I want to study computer science when I'm older! My mom even says its made me more responsible. It might seem unbelievable now but I was also just as scared and worried as you are. Its totally okay feel this way right now!
- Believe it or not, I felt the exact same way when I first got diagnosed. Before I had the pump I had trouble giving myself insulin with a needle at school, even though it's so tiny. I was so embarrassed by my condition that I told no one at school, not even the substitute teachers. That put me in danger because there should always be an adult who knows with us.
