- They were Patriots in South Carolina, most of them were from the Upcountry, some loyalists weren't loyal to the King, they mainly wanted to be left alone.

- Some women were Patriots and some were Loyalists, they took control of plantations and farms during the war, others were messengers and nurses, the others sacrifices their homes

- They tried to avoid the war as much as they could, but the Americans attacked them, the natives joined the British in promise for there land back, then they attacked the colonists.
- They served as soldiers in the Continental American Army.
- As some Native Americans served in the military, some were soldiers, but the white population feared the slaves turning on them during the war, therefore rejecting the appeal to allow the slaves to serve in non-military jobs such as cooking.
