  • Romeo, the intelegent, beautiful, depressed boy
  • Let us fly brothers, and have a party at the house of Capulet
  • "Give me a torch. I don't want to dance. I feel so sad so let me carry the light" (Scene 4 P 49)
  • Romeo, our male protagonist is going through a tough time. He's a boy that can get somewhere, but is being dragged down by his love to one he cannot get. He used to be very happy, but now he is only somber and lovesick.
  • Why so, Romeo? Don't let love weigh you down! Go, try something new, find a new girl.
  • Romeo, along with his accomplices, are going to the Capulet's party. The lines he speak above are accompanied with thoughtful poses, while speaking to his partners in a tired voice.
  • I'm not listening. You guys are talking nonsense, nothing but idle fantasies.
  • During the next slides, Romeo, Benvolio, and Mercutio have their discussion. This takes up most of scene 4, and then will end. The three boys will have an approximation of their conversation in the book, and will stand near each other, and look like normal people having a regular conversations. Approximations are above.
  • Well, dinner should be over by now. Let us go on, to the party.
  • If I had no limitations on cost or time, the costumes would reflect 12th century clothing, and a castle type set would be great. Props would be some torches and older musical instruments. The play might go over more as a reading, especially since it is a scene, and a decently short one at that. Rehearsals would go as readings, then as actors became more comfortable with the characters, ad libs and lack of scripts would become prominent.
  • Performance would go as the actor's jurisdiction; they would be able to use scripts if needed, but since performance would be at night or dusk, that would be undesirable.
  • "I'm worried we'll get there too early. I have a feeling this party will be the start of something bad, something that will end with my own death. But whoever's in charge of where my life's going can steer me wherever they want. Onward, lover boys!" (Scene 4 P 57)
