  • There are 2 types of Properties: Chemical and Physical property. Since we are talking about Chemical change, let me explain it first. Chemical properties describe the characteristic ability of a substance to react to form new substances . On the other hand, Chemical change means that one substance with a certain set of properties is turned into a different substance with different properties. Does the process of burning charcoal is a chemical reaction, a chemical change, since a new substance is formed which is the ashes and these cannot be made into coal again
  • oohh... is it because of the burning charcoals in the griller? it is an example of combustion reaction which produces carbon dioxide and water
  • Just a random thought, While I am grilling the meat, I remembered our lecture last week about the chemical change
  • let us recap our lesson below
  • Luisa is talking about these forms of energy:1. Mechanical energy - the energy of movement. ; 2. Chemical energy - energy that is stored in the bonds between the atoms of compounds. ; 3. Electrical energy - the energy of moving electrons.; 4. Electromagnetic energy - energy that travels through space as electrical and magnetic waves.; 5. Thermal energy - the energy of moving atoms of matter; 6. Sound energy - form of mechanical energy that starts with a vibration in matter.; 7. Nuclear energy - energy that is stored in the nuclei of atoms because of the strong forces that hold the nucleus together
  • I think these is also an example of thermal energy. Since in Cooking the conduction transfers energy to the food to be cooked.
  • yes you are right! As I recall we have 7 main forms of energy, these includes mechanical, chemical, electrical, electromagnetic, thermal, sound, and nuclear energy
  • Rose forgot to put the ice in a cooler...
  • oh no Mike, our ice melted I think because of the hot weather. It reminds me of our topic last week about properties of matter
  • Ofcourse! As I recall, this has something to do with the Physical Change. It is a change in one or more physical properties of matter without any change in chemical properties.
  • See! is because you did not listen to my instruction. But at least you listen to our teacher in our last week's lecture
  • yes yes! and a physical property is a characteristic of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of the substance.
  • HEHE SORRY. I'll just go to the canteen to freeze this. As we all know FREEZING, it releases thermal energy and turns into the solid state, ice
  • let me add more. Changes of state for example, from solid to liquid or from liquid to gas.
  • And some of the processes that cause physical changes include cutting, bending, dissolving, freezing, boiling, and melting.
  • and what you did to our ice is MELTING
  • Hey kids, stop with the lesson please! I'm lose :((Just enjoy the summer
  • The End..
  • *sigh*these smart kids will surely be successful in their future endeavors.
