- From this skit presentation we see an average looking Americanto the right and a Native American and someone who is of Spanish descent. We can see and interpret that there are grouped together. This represents the synthesis of the cultures even though they were so different.
- Period 4
- The Mexican American War was probably the biggest event to happen during this time period. Land was taken by the US and economic exploitation started to become a natural occurrence.
- Period 5
- Anglo American assimilation was incredibly big at the time. Soon Mexican Americans became overwhelmed med by the number of Anglos incoming.
- An enormous number of Mexican Americans immigrated to the US to escape war. This continued through the great depression, but the collapse of the economy eventually caused people to go back to Mexico.As shown on the right many did not plan on working such low-level jobs and were trying to seek better opportunities.
- Mexican Americans eventually came together to assert their civil rights as well as shifted from rural to urban based on the picture. To this day many US cities are home to very large populations of Mexican Americans.
