- The ancient Indus people lived in what is now India and Pakistan. The Indus people were a peaceful people and almost no weapons.
- Today we will be learning about the ancient Indus people.
- Indus streets were wide enough for two elephants to pass each other. They were also designed in a grid like pattern.
- Good boy!
- The Indus people had pets like lizards, birds, dogs, or monkeys. They also may have invented an early version of chess.
- But why?!
- I said no monkeys!
- No one is entirely sure why the Indus civilization ended. Some people think that a combination of diseases and natural disasters destroyed the Indus civilization.
- I'm not really sure.
- Why are we leaving again?
- The Indus people were very advanced, they even had working toilets! They also had a version of showering.
- Not yet!
- Are you done in there?!
- No one knows how to read the Indus language, because there are over 400 characters. Most people worked in their own homes so they didn't need to go to school.
