  • In the Middle Colony iron was a useful resource. They had hot weather in summer and cold weather in winter. This type of weather made farming life easier for them. They had many job opportunities including farming and becoming a printer.
  • How many goods for this fine young man.
  • In the New England Colony they grew many crops. They also raised animals. The people who lived here lived longer due to cold weather.Their governor was John Winthrop. He was elected 12 times.

  • The Southern Colony had many tobacco farms. They would sell the tobacco after growing it until it got so hot that the crops grew hot and steamy. Sadly this weather caused many to die due to mosquitoes and other bugs that spread deadly diseases. Wealthy people sometimes owned enslaved Africans to work on their farms. Most of these people were Catholics.
  • In Europe slaves were sold for goods. They we sold for things such as cloth, salt, rum, and other trading items. They could also be sold or guns which made Europe very powerful, so people were forced to give them slaves to protect them selves. They would sell them for many things after they had captured them from West Africa. Although they we not free they could own their own land to farm.
  • During wars Africans would be held captive. They could also become a slave if they did a crime. They most common way was to be traded. They were enslaving and capturing people to trade for guns. They would randomly be captured. 
  • During the Triangular trade Africans were locked up in chains and didn't know where they were going. Europeans would trade guns, cloths and other valuables for slaves. Fifteen out of one-hundred slaves died during harsh journeys. In one part of the trade, traders traded American goods to Europeans.
