- After hearing that Killer Kane got released, Grim and Gram were both very concerned. Grim and Gram had gotten into a fight and Grim wanted to buy a gun for defence and protection. Although they were both concerned and didnt like hearing that the killer of their daughter got released, Gram was still against getting a weapon for Grim to protect the family.
- In the middle of Christmas eve night, Max was fast asleep but had a feeling this was gonna happen. While feeling in sleep paralisis, he felt a hand come slowly over his mouth and a big body of warmth towering over him. It was Kane. He said very quietly, "stay as quiet as a mouse, not a peep". Max slowly got up without saying a word, expecting this in advance. He had Kanes arms wrapped around him tightly guiding him outside and escaping the house, into the streets. While walking in shock, Kane says Max is a chip off the old block and continues telling him how similar he is to himself and how He didnt actually kill the wife and how it was all just a lie.

- After the big incident with Kane and the kidnapping, he got arrested and Freak saved Max. Later, on Freaks birthday, he had a seizure during the dinner with everyone including Max's family. He later got sent to the hospital where he lays waiting for an operation to be done. After he got the operation, he later passed away. Before he passed, he handed Max a book for him to write all of their adventures in because Freak didn't have the time.
