- Eragon is 15 year old boy off hunting the Mountain Range call the Spine Few venture out this far from the village. But Eargon is used to the wildness. He follows a doe into a clearing and then a bright light shines and an egg is produced.
- Terim
- After Eragon returns from his hunt and is in his room and sleeping. He wakes up too the egg hatching. The dragon burns a scar to mark there bond. He decides to hide the dragon from his uncle and his cousin his only family. Because the only other dragon in existence is the evil king's that rules over ll of the land.
- Brom's Death
- Eragon leaves his home village after his house is destroyed and his uncle is killed. His uncle was killed by mercenaries that the king hired called the Ra'zac. He leaves with the village story teller Brom who says he will help him avenge his uncle's death. Brom gives Eragon a sword that was a past riders sword. Brom trains Eragon it the art of swordplay.
- Eragon in Jail
- Latter Eragon and Brom visit one of Brom's old friends in Terim a shipping city. They hope to find information concerning the whereabouts of the Ra'zac. So they go to Brom's old friend whoose name is Joed, a wealthy merchant. They eventually find out that the Ra'zac all in the City of Dras Leana.
- They eventually find the Ra'zac and confront them. Brom and Eragon engage the Ra'zac but the soon find out they are out matched.In order to save Eragons life Brom sacrifices himself. After this Eragon is captured and taken to prison.
- Now Eragon is captured with no way to contact help and no way to escape. Eragon is at the will of his captors and the King. They have taken away his weapons and Brom is dead. They have drugged his food so he can't think straight and left helpless.
