  • Remember:We are all loved by God and His mercy is immeasurable. Just like Alex, we may feel that we are more deserving or undeserving of God's love and mercy compared to others but that is not the case. We are all created in his image and likeness and so, we are all equally deserving of His love. This is an invitation to strive to be like God; joyful at the mercy and love others receive and hopeful for others to get enlightened by His unconditional love. Never let yours and other's sins hold you from forgiving both yourself and those who wronged you since you should know that God's mercy and loves does not depend on the number of sins one has committed nor on one's act of repentance.
  • However, he feels guilty about something; he has an alcohol addiction. And he cannot find it in himself to overcome it alone. He is scared that God might reject him in heaven since he cannot turn away from the temptation of alcoholism. He hopes that his good deeds might make up for his sins and he may earn God's mercy.
  • One day, he bumped into a woman that just came out of the police station.
  • I just got out and I was preoccupied worrying whether my family would still accept me even after the crime I have committed- ah, I'm sorry we just met and yet I just ranted to you without even hearing your acceptance of my apology.
  • We all should be forgiven. It is just simply hard for other to do so. But I do hope whomever you hurt could forgive you one day.
  • Ah no, it's okay. And about your family, I'm sure they would be happy that you're going to be with them again after so long.
  • I really hope so. Although I doubt my crimes could be easily forgiven.
  • Ah, the bus will be there soon. I've got to go now. Thank you for listening, see you around!
  • No worries, I wish you a happy reunion with your loved ones. See you around too!
  • Oh, sorry!
  • After the woman left, he realized something...
  • Hmm, if all could be forgiven, can my addiction be forgiven too? That amazing woman just went out of prison and was ready to face the world despite her past, who will stop me if I decide to follow her footsteps? And now that I think about it, if there is someone that would forgive us readily without us even asking for forgiveness, it would be God. Hmmm, I think I could change. Maybe not alone like that woman, but with the help of others. But before that, I'd like to go somewhere first.
  • Father, I am a sinner. I try to do good deeds so that I could somehow pay for my sins but I am still having doubt because I am not sure God will still have mercy for me after all the sins I have committed and for all the times I rejected Him. I wonder if ever I start a new life now, my past will still hold me down.
  • We are all sinners, and no matter how much we sinned, God will have mercy on us. It may be hard to believe because it seems unfair that people who sin more than you are also forgiven, but God is benevolent like that. And God's love is not a business transaction which depends on the good deeds you do. He gives His loves to all. This is not saying that we could do just anything since we going to be loved and forgiven by Him no matter what, rather this is an invitation to do the same.
  • After he cleared his doubts with the priest, he went to therapy so that he could overcome his alcohol addiction.
