- Hey girl, were you at the SAGA meeting on Tuesday?
- Yes I was. It was so informative and interesting.
- My favorite part of the presentation by Dr. Spencer was when she mentioned that effective communication should make connection. I believe communication does not help to meet personal needs, but it helps to connect with others especially my students.
- The part that grabbed me was when she stated that we should be mindful of ourselves and other people's feelings and emotions before communicating with them. Communication and emotional intelligence goes hand in hand.
- Also, communication is not only how we speak, but how we communicate non- verbally. Good body language and gestures are important. It helps to convey meaning to words visually.
- It was a great session. I really enjoyed it.
- Yes girl, it is all important. Not only that, but another thing that stood out to me was the use of SJE . I think it is important and mandatory to use SE in different spaces. It indicates formality and professionalism.
