- This scene demonstrates Person v. Nature because it shows how the rain is a natural barrier for her to walk to lowell mill. Rain is the Nature and Lyddie is the Person.
- This scene demonstrates Person v. Person because it shows how the mistress cutler (the person and antagonist) is having a conflict against Lyddie (the other person and protagonist).
- This scene demonstrates Person v. Society because it shows how everyone thinks bad about the people that work for the female labor reform association and fight for workers rights. Diana is the person and society is everyone/ most people.
