- I can't believe I'm starting college. Everything went by so quick!
- It was a normal Friday. One last lunch before the start of the new school year.
- I know. And I'm almost done with high school.
- We're at the restaurant for a little over an hour. We talk about school and what will be coming up in the next couple of weeks.
- After lunch, we head home. Preparing to start a new school year next week.
- As we conclude our lunch and walk back to the car, everything starts to set in that I'm going to be starting a new chapter in my life on Monday.
- Exhausted from the days activities, I begin to doze off....
- And heavier...
- Until they finally shut.
- My eyes get heavier...
- We started off the day with a breakfast to celebrate the beginning of a new school year.
- My sister asked me to take her somewhere, so I did. Little did we know our lives were about to change...
- Simply walking back to the car, thinking about what I'm going to do when I get home.
- I took a nap. Little did I know, when I left the house I didn't know if I would return.
- We got hit, in a car accident. To say this was the scariest thing I've ever been involved in would be an understatement.
- I was in complete shock...
- The drive was about 7-12 minutes.
- Instantly, we had so many people running up to the window to see if we were okay. As you can imagine, when you have multiple people knocking on your window, it's scary. In that moment I froze up and didn't know what to do. I called my mom. The panic in her voice is something I'll never forget. When our parents got there they instantly came to us. The fear they had in their eyes is something I'll never forget.
- The officers and other emergency personal began to arrive. At first I didn't know how to feel. And then it start to set in. I broke down. There was so much going through my head. The firefighter said the car should've flipped, but it didn't and the air bags didn't deploy.So here I am, with this event stuck in my head. Replaying the whole thing and thinking about all of the different outcomes.
