- We are the Tainos
- "Men of the Good"
- With living in the Caribbean, we were able to make these small villages across our island
- And, with gathered materials from nature, we built huts for the villages
- Tainos grow and harvest corn, cassava, and other roots. We use the rotation method when it comes to agriculture.
- We honor and appreciate these plants and animals. For we believe the spirits of these should be greeted and the nature shared.
- On the water, we try to sail the high oceans with courage. Always developing our skills in direction.
- We use the sea for fishing for food. We hunt for abundant jutia, manati, and other fish. In the coasts, we kept large corrals to fill with thousands of fish in the way of remora.
- We also have ceremonies, ball games, and dances, like this one.
- We hold social and ceremonial dances called areitos, here is when stories and cosmologies are told.
- Us, Tainos, have many unique parts of our culture. But dominantly, we value kindness and generosity.
