- Robert Hooke was an architectural figure who was also interested in science. One day, he looked into one of the oldest microscopes looking at cork and discovered box-like structures and called them cells because they reminded him of cell rooms. This was the discovery of cells courtesy of Robert Hooke himself. These findings would also help the explanation and discovery of Cell Theory.

- Robert Brown was a botanist, and in 1831 while testing fertilization he discovered under a microscope a nucleus and stomata and soon found that all cells have a nucleus. This discovery made Brown the pioneers in biology and microscopy.

- Matthias Schleiden who was a professional german botanist was the first to recognize the importance of cells in plants. Schleiden first did this in 1838 while testing a plant under a modernized microscope at the time. This made him one of the cofounders of the Cell theory in years to come finding the discovery.
- Cell Theory
- In 1839 German physician and physiologist Theodor Schwann co-discovered and co-founded cell theory. Schwann discovered cell theory after Matthias Schleiden found the importance of cells in plants. Afterward, Schwann extended the theory to animals. Schwann did this by studying animal tissues and concluding the importance of cells and that cells come from other cells. This helped in many ways in Schwann's and Schleidens careers, and shaped biology today.
- Rudolf Virchow was a writer, biologist, and even a prehistorian. In 1858 and at age 37 Virchow studied a deceased tissue from an animal and noticed and came to the conclusion that all cells come from pre-existing cells. He also found that certain cells in the body get sick and not the entire organism. This helped the cell theory and made Rudolf Virchow a father and pioneer of biology.
- Cell Theory has been discovered and processed by many great minds and had evolved biology, science, and the world as we know it. Without cell theory and the ones who helped discover it, we may never know truly how properly our bodies, plants, and animals even work and are able to obtain and sustain life.
