- Who does Jude Love?
- Jude got a new job to pay for Rease's surgery. "She Couldn't tell him the real reason: he didn't even like her to pay for dinner...He would never agree to let her pay for an expensive surgery." (Bennet 145) Jude loves Rease and knows that eh wanted to get his chest removed because she knows that Rease embarrassed of it. This shows her love for him, and his willingness to do anything for him.

- Jude is a very dark girl "She would get no darker, although she seemed to the longer she lived in Mallard. A black dot in the school pictures" Jude has been depicted many times throughout the story as being dark to the point of being mistaken as adopted by Desiree
