- Well, that would be because of inertia, you can't hug me because inertia means an object in motion stays in motion, if you got closer you would bounce off of me
- Hey sun, why can't I hug you
- You don't float away because my gravity force is strong enough to hold you in orbit, that's how the moon works with you too! Your gravity force keeps the moon orbiting around you!
- Well how come I'm always circling you, wouldn't I just float away?
- They aren't floating away because the gravity is holding them onto your planet! The gravity is strong enough to keep them on your planet instead of having them float away.
- I have another question. How are the humans on my planet not floating away?
- Gravity is the force that attracts things to the center of something, like the humans on your earth! They are attracted to your core and thats why they aren't floating away!
- Well what is gravity?
- You would be able to hug me if my gravity force was stronger, then I could pull you closer to my core and you could orbit closer to me, but I can't do that :(
- Well just a question, how would I be able to hug you?
- Yeah that's a good thing, I'm glad you orbit me :)
- Aww, well at least I still orbit you becuase of the gravity force instead of floating away.
