- Me: Exactly. It's one of those things where you can understand both sides of the argument, but in the end, it comes down to what feels right for you. And for me, in certain cases, I believe the death penalty is justified.

- Me: Well, I believe there are some crimes that are just so heinous, so unforgivable, that the only appropriate punishment is the ultimate one. I mean, think about it, someone intentionally takes the life of another human being, robbing them of their future, causing immeasurable pain to their loved ones.

- Friend: But what about the possibility of executing an innocent person?
- Me: That is clearly a concern, and it is a risk that we must take seriously. That is why I believe in strong protections to reduce the possibility of wrongful convictions. However, when there is overwhelming evidence of guilt and the crime is truly horrible I believe the death sentence can serve as both a deterrent and a sort of justice for the victims and their families.
