- The first man in this image is very aggressive and channels this aggressive energy from unacceptable social norms of punching someone without reason to boxing as it is socially acceptable.
- Reaction Formation
- This teacher is facing a lot of stress due to personal problems at home and problems at work. As a result, she displaces her pent-up anxiety and tension on her students by yelling at them for minor things they did wrong.
- Rationalization
- I was going to fail anyway, so Im ok with the grade I got.
- The woman in this picture is in denial as she refuses to believe that her father has died recently, and she tells her therapist that he is still alive and she is doing completely fine.
- This man is highly prejudiced but knows he will get shunned for having these views (rightfully), so he goes out of his way to preach anti-prejudiced views and attends anti-racist rallies.
- NO RACISM IS TOLERATED BY ME!
- This kid is failing to accept that he should have studied for the test and corroborates this view by telling himself that it would have been a waste of time as he would have failed anyway.
