- 6th Amendment
- I need to speak to a lawyer!
- We will schedule you for the first avalable trial date and we will talk to the people in your community to get more information.
- 6th Amendment
- Hello Ms. Mallory, I am your assigned Public Defender. Do you understand that since you have the right to counsel I am a free available resource during your time in court?
- Don't worry, Public Defenders are free and for the people who can't afford to get a personal lawyer.
- Yes. I have no money to pay you though!
- This woman is not happy about the city wanting to use part of her lawn in a new road widening project. She will go on to state that the prices he is suggesting are too low for the value of her land. She ends up hitting the man and the police get involved.
- 5th and 6th Amendment
- The officer that arrested her is telling her that she will get a speedy trial and the case will be heard in her community. She says that she needs to speak with a assigned lawyer, or Public Defender.
- 6th Amendment
- Thank you for being here today. It is important that we have this impartial jury to help ensure the true justice of this case.
- Mr. Thomas is correct. Ms. Mallory can not be charged with the crime that you have stated that she has commited. The 5th won't allow.
- She gets to meet the PB that is assigned to her and she is told that it is of no cost.
- 5th and 6th Amendment
- The 5th Amendment says that you can not charge my client with this crime twice!!
- She pleads the 5th so she does not have to answer an invasive question and her lawyer explains that she needs to know her exact charges and he demands to see her accuser.
- She would like to know the exact charges that are being pressed against her and I would like to see the accuser.
- I plead the 5th!
- The people on the benches are an impartial jury of many different ages of people. The woman in pink is a witness for Ms. Mallory
- I am a witness called for Ms. Mallory
- The judge tried to charge her twice but the accuser demands a public trial.
- But that's not fair! This isn't even a public trial, and according to the 6th Amendment, that is one of my rights!
