- It was a very miserable winter for the Continental Army. It was very tough to survive this winter, with little supplies, and no more being delivered from the Congress.

- As you would imagine, the General's quarters would be nice and more organized than the soldiers'. He resided in a stone house.It was a large home. It was still very difficult to survive the winter for the General.

- Most soldiers were without clothing, shoes, bedding, and blankets.It was miserable and caused many other problems for the soldiers.
- Many were sick with disease such as Typhoid, Dysentery, Typhus, Influenza, and much more.
- Training with von Steuben was tough, but worth it. He taught the army how to fight with bayonets, and did many teamwork drills.
