- Greg Heffley is a middle school boy that lives with his mom, dad, and 2 brothers. His family currently is having problems with their life. Previously, their house has been torn down. Now, they live inside Greg's grandmother's basement, seeking a way to spend time as a family.
- Found A Place

- Greg Heffley and his family are currently stuck in the basement. The family needs to decide on what they should do to solve their family problems. Greg's mom suggests they should go on a family vacation. However, they all have different ideas and they could not agree on anything. Then, Greg's great grandmother Gammie asks them to take out Greg's Uncle Gary's camper after being parked there for 2 years. That's when the family got the idea of going camping with the camper.
- The Miracle
- The Heffley family goes to the camping store to get equipment. They then take Uncle Gary's camper, and they go on the road to look for a place to stay. They try looking for a place to camp, but things end up going wrong when they thought a fish hatchery was a lake. They tried going to a camping site, but it backfired when a bear came and Greg's brother Manny shot off a flare. Finally, they tried going to a place called Family Adventure Center, but there weren't many rides that fulfilled the height requirement for Manny.

- Eventually, after a lot of searching, they find a place to stay. The place they find is called Campers Eden, and they stayed there for the trip. However, there were problems. Greg's mom tried to get Greg to have fun with boys his age. Greg met a few kids who were given nicknames, and Greg was called Jimmy Dogfish. The kids teamed up to spray teenagers who were trying to hit them with watermelons. Eventually, things went wrong with the group when one of the boys decided to tell on Greg. After that, a storm came and Greg rushed to the camper. Then, the Heffley family was sprayed by a skunk when it got into their camper. As of now, Campers Eden was a bad experience
- GET AS MUCH SUPPLIES AS YOU CAN!!!
- The lightning storm had destroyed the bridge, and trucks cannot go over to deliver food and supplies. People were rushing to get supplies in Campers Eden. The family decided to speed down the hill with their camper to get away from the trouble, but ended up crashing into the river. The Heffleys were stuck in the river and they decided to get on the roof. But Manny stayed in the camper and turned the wheel to form a bridge, causing everybody to leave with their vehicles. After 1 hour, all of the vehicles had exited. Since everybody else left, the Heffley family had everything to themselves, and had a good time at Campers Eden together.
- The lesson of the story is to be open-minded about what could happen with your plans. This is shown when the Heffley's think of their vacation and think it's going to be good. Then, problems occur in the vacation multiple times. They still were able to enjoy themselves, however.
