- August rushes out of class. He tries to hold in tears from realizing his best-friend betrayed him and was actually a phoney friend. August saw the other side of Jack and knew he was a hypocrite. After crying he decides to find somewhere to hide.

- August goes to the nurse's office and tells her his stomach is hurting and wants to call his mom.

- Isabel, August's mom, arrives at the nurse's office and sees how he's doing. August's mom asks him how he feels but August lies to her. He tells her he just has a stomach ache and headache while he was mumbling. When his mom was asking how he felt he noticed she felt empathy for him.
