  • Bella, I am starving! I think I caught a cold too!

  • 1989 November 20 in Algeria. The UN convention on the rights of child has been established
  • Hi! I'm Shirley and I'm here to help you on behalf of the government. Recently, the UN have decided to establish a convention on the rights of a child to ensure children receive the best support and have enough resources to develop in their best possible way.
  • ...
  • Fast forward 20 years later ... in Canada
  • Hey Chloe, don't complain anymore! The government is supporting us so that you children can have a safe and warm shelter along with food and all the other necessities.
  • mom!! I want more toys and pretty clothes. How come we can't have nicer and cooler things?
  • A little girl (Bella) and her little brother (George) came from a really poor family in which they accidently got separated from. Bella and George does not have a safe shelter, enough food or clothing to keep them dry and warm on this snowy night.
  • 10 years later... across the globe in one of India's poorer cities
  • Hey kids! Did you know 40 years ago without the UN Convention on the rights of the child, children who come from low income families would not receive proper education supported by the government
  • A homeless family is sad and worried for their children as they are cold and starving. However, a lady came to support them by providing a place for them to live in and funds for them to spend on necessities like food and clothing on behalf of the government.
  • Life of a child not in poverty
  • A single mother works hard everyday to support her four kids, they live in a low income apartment in Edmonton, Canada. The government followed the Un Convention and supported the family by providing them a shelter and money so her children will be able to develop and grow properly.

  • The teacher is explaining to the students the importance of The UN Convention on the rights of the child by demonstrating how life was like before the document has been established.
  • Wow we are really lucky!
  • This little girl Sophia lives in a middle sized apartment in California with her family. Her family is middle class and can afford everything Sophia needs in order to thrive and develop in the best possible way.
  • This is Sophia 20 years later. She is a successful, healthy, and wealthy woman. She works for a big company called Apple and is the financial manager. This is the future I anticipate for a child who does not have to go through poverty.
