Simon, what have you learned on our discussion in science about the scientist's contribution in the development of the Electromagnetic Wave Theory?
I learned about Michael Faraday is the probably the best known for his discovery of electromagnetic induciton, his contribution to electrical engineering and electrochemistry or due to the fact that he was responsible for the concept of field in physics to describe electromagnetic interaction. But perhaps it is not so well known that he also made fundamental contribution to the electromagnetic theory of light.

How about you? What you have learned?
I learned about James Clerk Maxwell, he discovered that a changing magnetic field will induce a changing electric field and vice versa.

How about you?
I learned about Heinrich Hertz, his contribution was he showed experimental evidence of electromagnetic waves and their link to light by using two rods that serve as a receiver and a spark gap as the receiving antennae. Where the waves are picked up, a corresponding spark would jump. Hertz showed in his experiment that these signals possessed all of the properties of electromagnetic waves.
