Three men, Bernardo, Marcellus, and Horatio, spot a ghost in the courtyard and become frightened. They claim it looked like the late king of Denmark
Act I
Hamlet meets with the ghost of his father, and is told that Claudius was the one who killed him. Hamlet swears to the ghost that he will get revenge.
Act I
Act III
Hamlet rejects Ophelia, presenting himself as completely crazy. This is also the scene where he gives Shakespeare's famous 'To be or not to be' soliloquy.
Hamlet confesses to his mother that he was faking his madness. He hears a noise and assumes it is Claudius spying, but it ends up being Polonius who he kills.
Act IV
Act IV
Laertes returns to Denmark, furious at Claudius, who he believes killed his father. Claudius tells him it was Hamlet, and proposes a plan to kill Hamlet so they both can be rid of him.
Act V
The plot to kill Hamlet goes wrong, leaving the queen dead. Hamlet kills Claudius, and then he and Laertes take eachother out.
