- Why I want to be a Market Research Analyst
- I think I'll apply to all three of the schools, and just see which one I get into! Hopefully I get accepted to McMaster though so I can join the Mathematics and Statistics I program.
- Why I want to be a Statistician
- I think I'll work at Destination Markham for the time being. The two other jobs require already working experience, so this might be a good first job! Hopefully I'll get to grow my skills as a Market Research Analyst!
- Destination Markham is a tourism corporation. They are looking for a market research analyst to research and gather targeted information related to the visitor economy and align with business plan priorities. While the salary isn't listed, I assume it would be of a similar amount to the first job opening listed above. Some of their requirements involve being proficient in Microsoft and Google applications as well as experience in the marketing field.

- I want my career to be something that can benefit people in a big way. As a market research analyst, I get to gather data that can benefit businesses, products, or services. I think the data market research analysts collect can have a big say in what a business decides to do next, ultimately impacting the consumer. Depending on how the job is done, this can be a good or bad thing. There are clearly specific people cut out for this job, and maybe I could be one of them!
- I love math, so becoming a statistician might be a good next step for me. Statisticians figure out what data is needed to help analyze and fix problems. After recording the data collected, sometimes they send it out to the general public so more people are aware of a certain issue. Statisticians bring any questions or uncertainties to light using math and I think it would be really cool to use my strengths to help better our world.
