- Metaphase
- During Metaphase, the chromosomes are lined up across the center of the cell like this right here. Each half is pointing in the opposite direction. The threads of protein called spindle fibers are attached to the center of each chromosome. The human body has 46 chromosomes .
- Anaphase
- After Metaphase is Anaphase. Anaphase is when the chromosomes split and each half is pulled toward the point where the spindle fibers come together.
- Telophase
- Next is Telophase. You can tell when telophase is happening when you see chromosomes clustered at separate ends of the cell. Also the forming daughter cells start to seperate. The nuclear membrane starts to form around both the clusters of chromosomes.
- Cytokinesis
- This is the final stage. It is called cytokinesis. This is where the cytoplasm is divided and the identical diploid daughter cells have been formed, both with a complete set of chromosomes. So you should be feeling all better now sense 2 new cells have been created.
- The End
- Anytime. If you ever get hurt again just remember PMAT. Those are all the stages in order. Prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
