- I am FDR and I am president of the United States during the Great Depression. I was elected in 1932 when I defeated Hoover. I contracted Polio in the 1920s which did cause difficulties in my life, but I have come out stronger and more compassionate towards people. I plan to take initiative to solve this Great Depression.
- To help with the Great Depression, I established bank holidays, took the dollar of the gold standard to cause inflation, and changed the Federal Governments role in the economy through corporations like the FDIC and the SEC
- I also had Fireside chats where I would talk to Americans over the radio and tell them my future plans and ways they can help the economy.
- To help farmers I passed the AAA which would pay farmers not to raise certain livestock, grow certain crops, and produce dairy products.
- My philosophy is different from Hoover's as I feel government spending and support are critical to getting America out of this depression. I launched well-funded federal programs to aid Americans while Hoover believed in private charities and supported big businesses.
- The federal government has a responsibility to aid Americans through this devastating time!👏🏻
