- The Prado museum was founded in 1819 by Ferdinand VII and currently has more than 1700 art works.
- One of the most famous art works of this museum is the frame "Las Meninas".
- The Queen Sofia museum was founded in 1990. Many reforms were carried out, but the current building is the work of the architects José de Hermosilla and Francisco Sabatini, due to the latter much of the work. It has more than 20000 art works.
