  • On January 29, 1850, the Fugitive slave act was ammended. It wasn't a good look for Americans to have slave auctions by presidential house so they abolished slave trade in Washington DC. This results in the gap between northerns and southerners
  • Dread Scott Decision

  • On March 20, 1852, Harriet Beecher Stowe published a book about the miserey slaves had to go through, and trying to convince the readers that slaves should be free, and that no one should be treated in such way. This book helped put Lincoln into office which he then played a role in the Civil War
  • Harpers Ferry
  • On May 30, 1854, multiple outbreaks broke out between people who were for slavery and people who were against it. Both sides tried to persuae the vote. As both sides spread more and more violence it lead to a crisis and the Civil War.
  • Election of 1860
  • In 1857, a decade long fight for freedom started by Dread Scott. Both Scott and Hariet Tubman thought it was unfair for their kind to not have schools teaching them new skills. So they persisted through multiple courts which gave momentum to the anti-slavery movement.
  • On October 16, 1859, Lafayette McLaws men attacked the Union defenders. The Union surrendered and it led to the Civil War.. Browns raid helped further accommodations between the north and the south impossible.
  • On November 6, 1860, a presidential election was held. It created sorrow for a republican nominee named Abraham Lincoln against a democratic party. Once he won, he led the Civil War.
